Statement on Netzarim Missionaries
and Related Groups

We have received questions asking whether or not the Nesarim are connected with a man known as "Yirmiyahu Ben David" in Israel or any messianic and Christian groups called "Netzarim".

"Yirmiyahu Ben David" (a.k.a. "Clint Van Nest") is a former Southern Baptist preacher from Florida, USA. Mr. Van Nest operates a group in which he refers to as "Netzarim" (another spelling for "Nesarim").

While some views held by Mr. Van Nest may be in common with the Hebrew Nesarim, we are not connected with Mr. Van Nest, and neither are the Nesarim connected to his group or any missionary activities in or outside of Israel.

There are many "restoration" groups claiming a "return to Torah", and many of these groups take names such as "Netzarim", "Nazrim", etc., but the original Hebrew Nesarim are not affiliated with any of these groups in any manner whatsoever.

While the Nesarim do not condemn these groups, we are adamantly opposed to all forms of missionary tactics used by some of these groups and find it most offensive to our very own Tradition.

One major difference between many of the various internet groups claiming to be "Netzarim" and the true Nesarim, besides theological differences, is that many of these groups seem to be more interested in selling books and audio tapes rather than teaching the pure Torah as taught by Adonai Yeshua.

The Nesarim offer their teaching materials at no charge to those who truly wish to know God and His Way. While we do not condemn groups that wish to sell books and trinkets, we believe it is best to focus on sharing freely rather than only selling. When a religious group is established only to sell trinkets, they become salesmen of a false religion.
